West India Temples
West India or Western Bharat contains the Indian states Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra and union territories Daman & diu and Dadar & Nagar Haveli. There are many temples and pilgrimage places situated in west India and tourist from Indian continent and around the world used to visit these famous west India temples during their holiday in India. If we search in the history of these west India temples then we will easily find that these temples are built in different time period. Few of these temples are very older and few are made in the last century. Most of the temples in western India are influenced by regional style of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Most important pilgrimage places of western part of India are Somnath Temple, Dwarkadhish Temple, Mahakaleshwar Mandir, Ashatavinayaka, Shree Siddhi Vinayak, Shirdi Saibaba. Out of these temples Somnath temple is the most famous temple in the history of India. Foreign invaders attack on this temple many times and damaged this temple again and again but the strong belief of people renovated it again and again as before. West India is also well known for the Buddhist pilgrimage and architecture for Ajanta Ellora Caves and these caves are now world heritage site.
